Since March 2020 we have been working on adapting the 5th edition of DAMA to a new social and cultural landscape. Having to sacrifice the physical presence of artists did not mean we would replace it with a virtual alternative, since focusing on live interactions and exchanges between the artists, viewers and the history of the city of Turin is our raison d’être.
Rather, in 2020 we decided that DAMA should focus solely on its Live Programme, dedicated to sound, video and performance art. This format, mostly financed by public and private sponsors, would have allowed us to directly support artists, while not forcing our partner galleries to take unnecessary risks. 

Although the last Ministerial Decree has not forbidden the upcoming programme, which was due to inaugurate in the noble halls of Palazzo Chiablese, we believe that the latest guidelines and the uncertainty surrounding the evolution of the situation in the coming weeks do not allow us to operate with a serene conscience, forcing us to give up the more dynamic part of the program as a sign of our responsibility towards the artists and curators from abroad.
It is therefore with great sadness that we have decided to cancel the 5th edition of DAMA.
